Intro
Kamen Rider Shin.....This show has been here for a while , OK it was from 1992 =.= , a pretty old show I must say . I knew about this kamen rider for a long time , but suddenly got the urge to rewatch and write a review about it ^.^ .
Kamen Rider Shin , by just watching the title you would get a slight idea about the rider itself . Well you see , kamen riders was about humans getting modified with grasshopper or insect DNA , but before Kamen Rider Shin , all the riders was wearing armours and metal mask O.o . Which is why they decided to make a Kamen Rider Shin which will actually change into a mutant grasshopper(?). Maybe it's because of his looks he wasn't all that famous among the not so tokusatsu fans =.= . Some of my friends that saw this thought of this show as violent O.o .

Well , as for the violent part , I must say it is quite violent when you compare him with the usual Kamen Riders . Maybe I haven't seen them , but I think he's the first "Kamen Rider" that has blood splurting around , and involves him tearing the enemy head from the body O.o .
The Story
As for the story , It revolves around our protagonist Shin , awakening from the hospital from a bad nightmare , little did he knew that these nightmare he was having was in fact the memories of doctor Onizuka which altered his own genes with a grasshopper , due to the telepathy ability of grasshoppers , Shin was able to experience these events like his own . This ultimately leads Shin to believe he was the monster causing the murders .
After finding out the change that has occured on his body , Shin digs for information about the experiment he has volunteered , while being wanted by both the organization and the CIA .
Review
Actually , I thought of this show to be quite boring ,yes....although I do kinda like the concept of Kamen Riders changing into monsters , but the actors in this show is kinda expressionless . The hero and the heroine didn't show much expression in the entire show =.= . The story did progressed quite slow , but still quite entertaining .
The best part of this show is that the good guy can hide ^.^ . Yes , you in normal show where the good guy is always in the open and the bad guy is in the dark , then the bad guy suddenly coming out and attacking the good guy out of nowhere....In this show , it's the other way round , Kamen Rider Shin is in the dark while the bad guy is in the open ^.^( finally a good guy which is more smart :P)
The way Kamen Rider Shin stray away from your normal Kamen Rider would be that he is quite violent . Normal Kamen Rider would show , the monster exploding "KABOOM" , bloodless violence and they would never kill a human being . But Kamen Rider Shin on the other hand did something different , as I have said above , this show has alot of blood splurting around , and Kamen Rider Shin has actually killed a human being . For the monster , his enemy doesn't go "KABOOM"(....well be did but it was because he self destructed =.= ) but his head was ripped out of his body O.o
The henshin scene was also very different , you wouldn't see flash of lights or "kaching* kaching* ^.- . Kamen Rider Shin changes his form in a different style . Normal Kamen Rider puts on armour while Kamen Rider Shin peels of his armour( Skin *ouch*O.o) , though I do think that Showa riders should have henshined this way ^.-.
The suit itself was very well made considering the year it was made , just that the mouth did not move all that much =.= , if the mouth moves more , he *REALLY* will become more monster like ^.^.

The reason why some of my friends think that Kamen Rider Shin to be violent
Violent?yes Kamen Rider Shin , is quite violent . If you turn on the TV and stumble upon this show out of coincidence , you would have not guessed that this show is a Kamen Rider . Shin was never once called by anyone in the show as "Rider" or "Kamen Rider" .
In conclusion , I would say that this show has a score of 6/10 . The costume of Kamen Rider Shin is great , but the costume actor and the person acting as Shin was kinda dissapointing =.=
